Initial stage
In the early stage of CNC turret's use, since the components are still in a good running-in state, its repetitive positioning accuracy can generally be maintained at a high level. At this time, the mechanical structure of the turret is relatively stable, the wear of the transmission components is small, and the parameters of the control system are relatively accurate. Therefore, under normal processing operations, the repetitive positioning of the tool can be achieved more stably, and the error is usually within the design accuracy range of the machine tool. For example, some high-precision CNC turrets can be controlled within ±0.005mm in the initial use, which can meet the requirements of most precision processing.
Mid-term stage
With the increase of usage time, CNC turret enters the mid-term use stage, and the repetitive positioning accuracy will gradually change. On the one hand, mechanical parts begin to produce a certain degree of wear, such as the turret shaft, bearings, gears, etc. of the turret. These wears will cause the matching clearance between the parts to increase, thereby affecting the positioning accuracy of the tool. On the other hand, frequent tool changes and cutting forces may also cause slight deformation of the turret structure, further reducing the repeatability accuracy. Generally speaking, at this stage, the repeatability accuracy may drop to around ±0.01mm-±0.02mm. If the processing requirements are high, the turret may need to be properly adjusted and maintained.
Late stage
In the later stage of CNC turret use, its repeatability accuracy will drop significantly. At this time, the wear of mechanical parts has been serious, the transmission accuracy has been greatly reduced, and the overall rigidity of the turret may also be weakened due to long-term stress. In addition, problems such as aging of electrical components and parameter drift of the control system may also gradually emerge. These factors combined will further deteriorate the repeatability accuracy of the turret, and the error may exceed ±0.05mm or even higher. In this case, the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the processed parts will be greatly affected, and in severe cases, the parts may be scrapped.
Countermeasures
In order to slow down the rate at which the repeatability accuracy of CNC turret decreases over time and extend its service life, a series of effective measures need to be taken. Regular maintenance of the turret, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn parts, can reduce mechanical wear and keep the parts in good condition. At the same time, regular calibration and optimization of the control system and timely adjustment of parameters can also help improve the positioning accuracy of the turret. In addition, reasonable arrangement of processing tasks to avoid the turret running under high load and high speed for a long time is also an important way to protect the turret's accuracy. Only through scientific management and maintenance can we ensure that the CNC turret maintains good repeated positioning accuracy for a long time and provide reliable guarantee for high-quality processing production.
